I came out to New Zealand when I was 16 with my family so we could make the trans alpine rail journey from Christchurch to Greymouth, and absolutely fell in love with New Zealand.
I came back to study at university without ever thinking I would meet a kiwi guy, get married and end up staying. Twelve years later and I still love New Zealand’s friendly culture; I love that I can talk to a passing stranger on a footpath about their dog without them looking at me strangely. True to the saying, New Zealand is absolutely the land of opportunities, I never would have had the chance to experience half of the things that I have, had I not come here. After finishing a stint in Antarctica shuttle driving; large passenger moving machines on the Ross Ice shelf, we made the move to the Manawatu so that my husband could pursue his dream job. I have been with NZP for a year now and although the laboratory environment is always busy, the day seems to fly by when you enjoy the team that you’re working with.
